 Nick Collatos, Circulation Director
Nick Collatos has been the Circulation Director for InnoVision since 1994 and oversees both the consumer and professional publications. Originally hired in 1994 by InnoVision’s predecessor, The American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Nick was a member of the original management team that launched Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine (1995) and oversaw AACN’s membership publications. A circulation veteran with 29 years of circulation experience, Nick has held management positions at the Los Angeles Daily News, the Los Angeles Times, and the Ventura County Newspaper Group (a Scripps property). Nick attended California State University of Northridge, where he studied Business Management.

arrow David Riley, MD, Editor in Chief, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine
David Riley graduated from the University of Utah medical school, is board certified in Internal Medicine, and has received post-graduate training in a variety of complementary therapies including yoga, cranial osteopathy, nutrition, homeopathy, and herbal medicine.  He is the editor-in-chief of the leading indexed medical journal in Integrative Medicine, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, written chapters for a variety of medical textbooks, and is a clinical associate professor at the University of New Mexico medical school. He received his undergraduate degree in Music and Psychology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1976. Prior to attending medical school he worked as a musician and chef in Europe and the United States. He has worked and traveled extensively in North, Central and South American, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

In 1992 he opened the Integrative Medicine Institute, a multi-specialty clinic and wellness center, research center, and healthcare policy institute to improve patient care through the implementation of Integrative Medicine - combining the best of conventional and complementary medicine.  He is also in an integrative medicine practice with Dr. Tieraona Low Dog in Santa Fe, NM. 

Dr. Riley has conducted or managed more than 50 clinical trials since 1992 ranging from international practice-based research networks to randomized controlled clinical trials. In 1998 Dr. Riley founded Southwest Health Options, an independent practice association (IPA) managing the delivery of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for insured patients where he developed credentialing standards, managed peer review and coordinated service utilization.  He has been a member of the CONSORT group and worked on the development of coding solutions for Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Riley has consulted with regulatory agencies in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. He is a board member of the HPCUS, a technical advisory body to the FDA and has consulted with other federal agencies.  Dr. Riley is a member of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Advisory Council for Dubai Healthcare City and led a steering committee that developed licensure rules for integrative medicine providers.   

Dr. Riley lectures and consults internationally on a range of healthcare issues including healthcare policy and regulation, health and wellness, education and research, and issues surrounding integrative medicine.  He is married and lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

arrow Joseph Pizzorno, ND, Editor in Chief, Integrative Medicine: A Clinician’s Journal
Dr. Joseph E. Pizzorno, Jr., appointed by President Clinton in December 2000 to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy and by President Bush’ administration to the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee in November 2002, is one of the world’s leading authorities on science-based natural medicine.A physician, educator, researcher and expert spokesperson, Dr. Pizzorno is founding president of Bastyr University. He is Editor-in-Chief of Integrative Medicine: A Clinicians Journal, a member of the scientific review board of the Gateway for Cancer research and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Functional Medicine. Licensed as a naturopathic physician in Washington State since 1975, he has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors for his academic, professional and public affairs leadership. Dr. Pizzorno is the co-author of the internationally acclaimed Textbook of Natural Medicine, thebest-selling Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine (1,000,000 copies in six languages), and six other books.
